  • Convent project

"Convent Project"

The young visitors gain an insight into life in a convent and the everyday routine of the nuns before and after the Reformation. They find out how, when and why the convent was founded and can wear a nun’s habit and imagine what it was like to be a nun. The second part of the tour is about the convent scriptorium and they will write with ink and a quill.

  • Historic toys

    In the exhibition of historical toys, model railways, dolls and doll’s houses, puppet theatres, children’s books, sets of building bricks and much more besides, the Rostock Cultural History Museum offers an insight into the world of children’s play, especially of the upper classes, in the past two centuries.
